Cerro La Cruz is a frontier site in the Chao Valley of Peru, once occupied by the Casma polity.Welcome to the website of the Cerro la Cruz Excavation Project. This website is designed to inform the public of the archaeological research conducted at the site of Cerro la Cruz in the Chao Valley of Peru, directed by Dr. Melissa Vogel and Prof. Luis Coronado Tello.

The field seasons at the site began with superficial investigations which started in 1999, continued in the summer of 2000, and culminated with an excavation project that took place during June, July, and August of 2001.
